UTI Treatment — Pharmacy First at Knights Pharmacy

Suffering from a urinary tract infection? You don't need a GP appointment.

Through the NHS Pharmacy First scheme, our pharmacists can assess your symptoms and supply antibiotics for uncomplicated UTIs in eligible women aged 16–64 — free of charge.

Symptoms to look out for:

Burning or stinging when urinating
Frequent urge to urinate with little passing
Cloudy or strong-smelling urine
Lower abdominal discomfort
How we treat it: After a brief confidential consultation, we can supply antibiotics (commonly trimethoprim or nitrofurantoin) without a GP prescription. We'll also advise on staying hydrated and avoiding irritants.

When to seek further help

Contact your GP or NHS 111 if you are pregnant, have a temperature above 38°C, or symptoms don't improve within 48 hours of starting antibiotics.
