Symptoms to look out for:
Pain when swallowing
Swollen, tender glands in the neck
Hoarse voice, fever or chills
How we treat it
We assess your sore throat and advise on pain relief, hydration and throat lozenges. Where antibiotics are clinically appropriate, we supply them on the spot.
When to seek urgent help: Call 999 if you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, a stiff neck alongside fever, or a rapidly spreading rash.
