Head lice are extremely common and have nothing to do with hygiene. Through the Wales Common Ailments Service, we provide effective physical treatment products free of charge.
Symptoms
- Itching of the scalp, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck
- Visible nits (empty egg cases) on the hair shaft
- Live lice visible on wet combing
Treatment at Knights Pharmacy
We provide dimeticone lotion (e.g. Hedrin) or isopropyl myristate spray as first-line physical treatment. Applied to dry hair, left overnight and repeated after 7 days. All household members with confirmed lice should be treated the same day.
