Ringworm Treatment — Wales Common Ailments Service

Get free NHS ringworm treatment at Knights Pharmacy in Wales — no GP appointment needed.

Despite the name, ringworm is a fungal skin infection — not a worm. It causes a ring-shaped, scaly rash and is easily treated. Through the Wales Common Ailments Service, we can supply antifungal treatment free of charge.

Symptoms

  • A circular, red, scaly rash with a clearer centre
  • Itching and soreness at the affected site
  • The ring may slowly expand outward

Treatment at Knights Pharmacy

We supply antifungal cream — typically clotrimazole, miconazole or terbinafine — applied directly to the rash. Continue for the full recommended course even once symptoms clear.

When to see your GP

If the scalp or nails are affected, the rash is widespread, or it doesn't respond to cream after 2–3 weeks.
