Ingrowing Toenail Advice
Get free NHS ingrowing toenail advice at Knights Pharmacy in Wales — no GP appointment needed.
An ingrowing toenail can make walking painful and, if infected, it can worsen quickly. Through the Wales Common Ailments Service, our pharmacists can provide practical advice and appropriate treatment free of charge.
Symptoms:
- Pain and tenderness along one or both sides of the toenail
- Redness and swelling of the skin beside the nail
- Discharge or pus if the area has become infected
Treatment at Knights Pharmacy:
We'll advise on correct nail-cutting technique, soaking in warm salt water, and footwear. We can supply topical antibiotic cream if infection is present. For persistent or severely infected cases, we'll refer you to your GP or podiatrist.
When to see your GP:
If you have diabetes or poor circulation — nail infections in these groups need prompt GP assessment.
