Teething Pain Relief
Get free NHS teething advice at Knights Pharmacy in Wales — no GP appointment needed.
Teething is a completely normal process that can cause real discomfort for babies and a lot of worry for parents. Through the Wales Common Ailments Service, our pharmacists can help with appropriate relief products free of charge.
Symptoms:
- Increased dribbling and chewing on objects
- Swollen, red or tender gums
- Fussiness, irritability and disturbed sleep
- Slightly raised temperature (not usually above 38°C)
Treatment at Knights Pharmacy:
We can recommend or supply teething gels containing a local anaesthetic, paracetamol or ibuprofen infant suspension for pain and raised temperature, and chilled teething rings for additional comfort. We'll advise on first tooth care too.
When to see your GP:
If your baby has a temperature above 38°C, is persistently unwell, or has diarrhoea alongside teething symptoms — these are not caused by teething alone.
