Warts & Verrucae Treatment
Get free NHS warts and verrucae treatment at Knights Pharmacy in Wales — no GP appointment needed.
Warts and verrucae are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are very common. Through the Wales Common Ailments Service, our pharmacists can supply appropriate treatment free of charge.
Symptoms:
- Warts — small, raised, rough lumps on the hands, fingers or around the nails
- Verrucae — flat, hard areas on the sole of the foot, often with tiny black dots, and may be painful when walking
Treatment at Knights Pharmacy:
We can supply salicylic acid preparations (e.g. Bazuka) for daily application after soaking and filing, or cryotherapy sprays (e.g. Wartner) to freeze the wart. Consistency is essential — treatment takes several weeks.
When to see your GP:
If the wart or verruca is on the face or genitals, is very large or spreading rapidly, or if you are immunocompromised.
Walk in to any Knights Pharmacy branch in Wales — no appointment or GP referral needed. Free for patients registered with a Welsh GP practice.
